Changing rooms refurbishment
From Monday the 6th October we will be closing our changing rooms to start work on a major refurbishment of both the men's and women's changing facilities, showers and toilets. Picture stylish showers, brand-new layouts, new vanity areas, sparkling mirrors, beautiful new floors and so much more.
We expect this work to last a few months with a planned reopening date of Friday 2nd January. We appreciate this closure will cause disruption to your health & wellbeing routine, but for members who require changing facilities we are pleased to say that you will be able to use the gym, swimming pools, group exercise classes and changing facilities at our sister-centre Maidstone Leisure Centre for the duration of these works. However, our gym, workout classes, creche, games room and club room will remain open as usual. There will also continue to be a toilet provision upstairs in the gym throughout the refurbishment.
Swimming pool maintenance
We understand our members have been frustrated with various issues with the consistency of the spa and small pool opening and we are pleased to announce that those issues will soon be a thing of the past.
From Wednesday 1st October all of our pools will close to begin extensive work on our plant rooms. Unfortunately, this also means that our sauna and steam rooms will be closed for the duration too.
These improvements will also finish on Friday 2nd January and will provide our members with a much more consistent health club experience. We have coincided this work with our changing room refurbishment to minimise disruption as much as possible for our members.
Health & Fitness member update
It's important we give our members the facilities and experience they deserve, and we hope this update shows we're committed to doing just that. By providing our members access to Maidstone Leisure Centre during these works, we're hoping this will soften the impact of the closure of our facilities at Lockmeadow Health Club for those few months.
As a thank you for sticking with us during these months, existing members who keep their membership active throughout the refurbishment won't be subject to our upcoming January price increase on 1st January 2026. These members will keep their current membership price for the duration of the refurbishment with this increase delayed until 1st April 2026 instead. In addition, members will receive an extra guest pass each month in 2026 as well. Annual members that are currently with us will receive a special discount at the point of their annual renewal.
If these membership options don't work for you, we are also happy to freeze your membership at no charge for the length of the refurbishment, but you will be unable to use Lockmeadow Health Club or Maidstone Leisure Centre during that time.
Swimming Lesson member update
We know how vital it is for our swim lesson students to keep working on their swimming skills during our pool closure and we're proud to be able to offer our swim students the same lessons, with the same teacher at the same time and the same day, but over at Maidstone Leisure Centre during this period instead. We've worked closely with the Maidstone Leisure Centre team to ensure our swim students won't miss a single stroke over these next few months.
Like we have with our health & fitness members, our swim lesson members who keep their membership active with us during the refurbishment project won't be subject to our upcoming January price increase on 1st January 2025. These members will keep their current membership price for the duration of the refurbishment with this increase delayed until 1st April 2025 instead.
Aqua Fit class update
Once the pool closes, our Aqua Fit classes will be moved over to Maidstone Leisure Centre and we're really happy to let members know that the classes will take place at mostly the same times and on the same days as before. The new timetable for Aqua Fit at Maidstone Leisure Centre for the duration of the refurbishment will be:
- Mondays at 11.45am
- Tuesdays at 12pm and 7.30pm
- Thursdays at 7.30pm
- Fridays at 12.15pm
New member events
These refurbishment works aren't the only reason for our members to get excited - we've also launched a whole host of member events! These events are absolutely free for members to attend as part of their membership, with competitive guest prices for you to bring your friends and family along too. Our first event is our Elvis Tribute Night on Saturday 27th September and these events will continue as normal throughout the refurbishment period. You can find out more about our member events by tapping below.
