Wellbeing gift for 90-year-old Maidstone Leisure Centre customer
At Maidstone Leisure Centre, our members are at the heart of everything we do and every now and then, someone truly special reminds us why we love what we do.
We have celebrated one of our longest-serving members, Betty West, by gifting her a free year’s membership to commemorate her 90th birthday.
Betty turned 90 in June and has been a member at our centre for over 25 years. Her enthusiasm for staying active is nothing short of inspiring. She makes full use of her current membership, attending the centre’s Chi Ball, and Mind & Body Classes, as well as being a keen Badminton player.
Donna Kavanagh, our Deputy Contract Manager, said:
“Betty is an example to us all! We were delighted to gift her next year’s membership for free. It’s the least we could do for such a lovely lady and a valued customer of Maidstone Leisure Centre.
“We’re very proud of the range fitness and wellbeing sessions we offer at the centre, which provide local people like Mary with a place where they can stay active, socialise with friends and keep living life to the full.”
Betty was over the moon with her present. She told us:
“I love it here! That’s why I’ve been coming for so long. The staff are always so helpful & friendly. It’s important to stay active, whatever age you are!”
