Active sessions are for those looking to use swimming for exercise purposes, or to improve fitness levels. Active sessions permit the use of training aids and equipment for the more serious swimmer.


Social sessions are for those looking to get enjoyment out of swimming. These sessions enable you to swim with others of similar ability and are a great way to meet like-minded swimmers.


Wellbeing sessions are for those looking to use swimming to improve overall health, fitness and wellbeing. A great way to exercise, tone and relieve stress.


Family sessions have been specifically designed for those with children.  The Family sessions offer a calm and enjoyable atmosphere for young and old alike - the perfect family day out.


Our fun sessions are perfect for children and teenagers, offering a lively, energetic and exciting atmosphere - the perfect pool party!


Swimming Pools

Maidstone Leisure Centre is home to five fantastic swimming pools, including a fitness pool for lane swimming, two teaching pools, diving boards and dive pit and a fun pool with exciting water features for toddlers, spa, waves and a flume.

In addition to all of these, we also have new contemporary family changing rooms with full disabled changing facilities.

Make a splash in the Fun Pool with rapids, waves, interactive water features for toddlers, spa pool and beach – the perfect family fun swim. We also have one of the fastest flume rides in Kent – come along and experience a lightening fast thrill ride – can you beat your personal best?

Fitness Pool

The 25 Metre Fitness Pool kept at 28 degrees is perfect for the keen swimmer with fast and slow lanes for fitness swimming or a leisurely swim.

Teaching Pools

Our two Teaching Pools offer a range of classes including swimming lessons, aqua aerobics, post and ante natal classes and adult and toddler. These pools are also the perfect environment for a quiet swim for mother and baby.

Jump or dive from our 1 metre and 3 metre spring boards or our sky scraping 5 metre high platform into our Dive Pit Pool.

Kent’s only Aqua Challenge pool inflatable! Children and adults can bop, bounce and splash to their heart’s delight on this fun and challenging inflatable assault course.



Join the Wave Rave!

The Family 'Wave Rave' sessions are great for children and families alike.  Experience fun, floats, games and loud tunes - a great Friday night out.

Pool Rules & Etiquette

  • Shower before entering the pool
  • Babies must wear swim nappies and swimming costume
  • Swim within your ability – use equipment and buoyancy aids if required
  • Do not swim if feeling unwell
  • Inform a lifeguard if you have any medical conditions
  • Please wear the blue 'over-shoes' provided over your outdoor shoes when in the changing village and poolside 
  • Look out for yourself and others while in the pool
  • Be aware of danger - sudden pool depths or slippery surfaces
  • Listen out for the emergency alarms or lifeguard instructions


Suitable Swimwear & Equipment

In the interests of hygiene and safety, please ensure you wear suitable swimwear & use appropriate equipment when using the swimming pool.

Suitable swimwear includes: 
  • Swimming costumes
  • Bikinis
  • Tankinis
  • Swimming trunks
  • Swim shorts (above knee)
  • Rash Vests or Tops 
  • Lycra (or similar material) Leggings 
  • Lycra (or similar material), close fitting full-body swim suits
  • Burqinis

Swimwear should be of a suitable material, i.e. not get excessively heavy or become transparent when wet.  Please also note that babies are required to wear swim nappies.

Attire that is not suitable includes: 
  • Cut off jeans 
  • Three quarter length trousers
  • Loose fitting T-shirts / tops
  • Thongs or G-strings
  • Underwear
  • Swimwear with zips, studs or buckles is not permitted on slides and flumes

If you have medical, religious or personal reasons for wanting to wear alternative, loose fitting clothing, please speak to a member of our team.  However, for safety reasons, you may be restricted to shallow water and may not be permitted to use slides, flumes or diving boards.

Please also note that the use of fins, snorkels and other swim aids may be restricted in general, public swim sessions. Please contact reception for further information and times when the use of such equipment is permitted.


Flume Rules

  • All bathers must ride on their backs, feet first
  • Cross arms over chest, with hands touching shoulders
  • Do not attempt to kneel or stand
  • You must not attempt to stop yourself in the flume and do not hold onto the sides
  • Walk out of the catch immediately as you come to a stop
  • Do not re-enter the flume or aqua catch
  • No goggles, jewellery or locker keys are to be worn
  • No buoyancy aids of any kind permitted on the flume
  • No dual riding; only one person at a time is permitted
  • Do not commence your ride until permitted
  • Always listen to the lifeguards

The depth of water in the aqua catch is 0.3 metres

You should not use the flume if you are:

  • Pregnant
  • Under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Suffer from any heart, spinal or physical injury
  • Suffer from epilepsy

Warning: There is a risk of epilepsy due to the light effect within the flume
