Policy on Separate Sex Spaces and Sessions

Serco Leisure recognises that there is a well-founded basis of objection to the sharing of separate-sex spaces. Our service delivery models are structured around the following parameters:

• Biological Sex Separation: All non-partitioned changing spaces, showers and toilets designated for female or male use are strictly separated on the basis of biological sex.

• Alternative Provisions: Any customer subject to the protected characteristic of gender reassignment is provided with a suitable, fully functional alternative service or individual facility. This is a proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim.

• Staff and Public Communication: We are updating our internal policy manuals and facility signage to ensure this operating model is clearly communicated to all staff and service users.
